Most of the Bobung villagers are the maker of these wooden batik handycrafts. One can do a three hour workshop to make your own wooden batik souvenir.

Kawasan Agrowisata Nglanggeran:
This ecotourism region was formed by volcanic materials. It has a beautiful scenery with high and unic geologically value. Nglanggeran mountain is an ancient volcanic mountain that has been formed before mount Merapi in Sleman. One can walk around a hugh water reservoir and tracking in the surroundings. Desa Wisata Jelok:
Nice and clean village at the country side, in Gunung Kidul District. Entrance of the village by an antic bridge over the river Oya. A place where you can get contact with the villagers and beautiful surroundings. One can see the farmers working on the fields and can do tracking along the river and having lunch in the kampoeng Jelok resto.

Mbah Jhoni:
Here are traditional hats, called "blangkon". Also, here and here, also traditional clothing used for local shows. You take a look at the workshop and explain the authentic production process.

Sri Gethuk:
A waterfall, which is located in the Playen sub-district.
It gives a beautiful scenery near to the preservation forest. You can see the real beauty of rural landscape. The water of Sri Gethuk flows into the Oya river through a high cliff. The waterfall can be reached by boat or foot.

A visit to the beaches
Baron: Baron: a beach surrounded by karst cliff. Climbing to the top of the cliff you can see a beautiful view over the beach and sea. It is also a tradiotional fishermen harbour where lots of fishermen go out for fishing. The fish they bring in is sold on the fish market that can be visited in the morning.
Kukup: When it is low tide you can see the marine biota like different kind of seaweeds and urchins. Local people are harvesting these for their own living. Here you can climb up to a small coral island for a lovely sight of the sea.
Sepanjang: A long natural white sand beach.
Drini: A traditional fishermen harbour and a fish auction centre. There are traditional food and seafood restaurants along the clean and whit beach.
Krakal: The widest and longest beach is suitable for jogging
and swimming. You can also enjoy looking for marine biota with a small net that is sold there.
Indrayanti: Good seafood restaurant and a possibility for jet-ski. It is a popular place for young people.
Siung: It has its own characteristics such a abrupt cliff surrounding the beach, great panorama and a magnificent place to do cliff-hanging and -climbing.
Wediombo: Enjoy watching the great sunset or fishing or stroll along the sea.

Goa Maria Tritis & Paliyan
Goa Maria Tritis:
A catholic pilgrimage place. Visit the big statue of the holy Mary high up in the cave.

Kalisuci:
Cave tubing is recommended for adrenaline travellers.
Skilled guides will fit you to use a safety tube and equipment. Floating on th water trough the cave one can see stalactites on the roof.
Desa Wisata Mojo:
Carving from lime-stone: statues for the garden,
relief, vases, etc.
Wonosari:
Traditional market where local people sell their goods like vegetables, cooking tools, handicrafts and clothing.
